Data deletion
Delete your data
Kind to Me keeps your affirmations and recordings on your device. Here is how to remove them, and how to remove the sync copy if you created one.
Delete data on your device
Most of what Kind to Me holds is local to your phone. You have three options:
- Delete individual items: remove a favourite, a personal affirmation, or a voice recording from inside the app. Deleting a recording removes its audio file too.
- Clear all app data: use the clear-data control in the app's settings to reset everything the app stores locally.
- Delete the app: removing Kind to Me removes its private app storage, including your recordings, from the device.
Deleting is permanent. Local data, your voice recordings, and any encryption keys may be unrecoverable once removed. Export a backup first if you might want your lines or recordings later.
Delete your sync account
Sync is optional. If you never turned it on, there is no account and nothing to delete. You can stop here.
If you did enable it, open Settings → Sync in the app and use Delete sync account. This removes the service copy of your encrypted records and your account with the sync provider.
The sync account is shared across JPott Studios apps. If you signed in with the same email in more than one app, deleting the account deletes the shared account and its cloud data for all of them. Data already on your devices stays on your devices.
If an option described here is not visible in your app, that feature is not enabled in your version and there is no account to delete.
What deletion does not do
Deleting the app or your sync account does not cancel a subscription and does not refund a purchase. If you are on the monthly or yearly plan, cancel it through Apple or Google, or it will keep renewing. The one-time unlock has nothing to cancel. Refunds are requested from Apple or Google, who decide under their own policies.
Deletion also does not reach:
- Backups you exported yourself. Once you saved a backup to Files, email, or cloud storage, only you can delete it from there. Remember your voice recordings are inside that file.
- Operating-system backups. iCloud or Android device backups are controlled by you and your platform.
- Purchase records. Apple, Google, and RevenueCat keep their own transaction records under their policies.
If you need help
If you cannot reach the in-app controls. For example you no longer have the device, email jpottstudios@gmail.com and describe what you need removed. Do not include passwords in the email.
Note that your favourites and personal lines are encrypted on your device before upload, so the sync service cannot read their contents; deletion removes the stored records rather than decrypting them. Your recording audio files are never uploaded by sync, so there is no service copy of your voice to delete.
