Private by design
Your words stay on your device. Kind to Me contains no advertising SDKs and no remote behavioural analytics. You sign in with a free account, and nothing you write or record is sent anywhere unless you turn on encrypted sync.
Optional encrypted sync exists if you want your favourites and personal lines on more than one device. It stays off until you turn it on, and your voice recordings are never uploaded by sync at all. The details live in the privacy policy.

Questions
Do I have to subscribe?
No. There is a monthly plan and a yearly plan. Both give the same Premium features. Pick whichever suits you.
Where do my voice recordings go?
They stay in the app’s private storage on your device. Optional sync does not upload the audio files. The one way a recording leaves your phone is if you export a backup yourself.
Does the app listen in the background?
No. The microphone is used only after you grant permission and then deliberately start a recording. Background recording is not enabled.
Do I need an account?
No. An account is optional. You can start using Kind to Me right away without one. A free account is only if you want to sync across devices, and you sign in with an email. Premium is restored through your App Store or Google Play purchase, not the account. Your words stay on your device, and encrypted sync stays optional.
Can I get my data out?
Yes. You can export a backup file at any time, and the app checks your voice files when you restore it. It is an ordinary JSON file that stays on your device unless you move it somewhere yourself. It is not encrypted by the app, and it includes your recordings, so store it somewhere you trust.
How do I restore Premium on a new phone?
Use the restore option in the app while signed in to the same App Store or Google Play account you bought it with. See support if it doesn’t appear.
